There are many reasons someone may choose to pursue a developmental or psychological evaluation. Testing can often provide clarity to individuals and families looking for support in identifying their own or their child’s unique strengths and challenges. Evaluations act as a personalized roadmap helping parents or individuals navigate potential hurdles in their everyday lives. By identifying specific needs and areas for growth, we empower parents and individuals to take actionable steps toward a deeper understanding of themselves and their child, to foster a supportive environment and promote overall well-being. We provide a wide variety of psychological assessment services for children and adults in Columbus, Ohio.
Evaluations typically include a comprehensive clinical interview completed with the child’s parent or the individual, multiple rating scales completed by parents/caregivers and teachers, or for adults, the individual and an observer (someone who knows them well), and some combination of direct testing of cognitive ability, learning, and working memory. Approximately two weeks following testing appointments, a feedback is completed to review results, answer questions, and provide recommendations for intervention if warranted.
We take great care and consideration in the evaluation process as ADHD, Autism and other difficulties are commonly misdiagnosed.
